Hello, 2013

Those fireworks were shot just after midnight on January 1, 2013, from the patio of our condo on Orient Beach in St. Martin/Sint Maarten, the lovely French/Dutch island in the northeastern Caribbean where we spent the past seven days. It’s a bit tough coming home from white sand beaches to white snow-covered yards, but it feels good to be back in our house. We have some great photos, so I will do a travelogue at some point soon. Happy 2013 to you all for now, though! May it be filled with felicitous happenings!

Happy New Year to you, too! The turning of a page. I am *really* hoping 2013 is better than 2-12, which aside from two wonderful things (my father’s miraculous surgery and the adoption of my darling Rosie dog) goes down as a pretty dismal year in my book.
Thanks, Gina! I’ve been quietly, faithfully following along at Gully Brook, so have a sense of both the lows and highs recorded there over the past twelve months . . . and definitely agree that your two noted events are truly wonderful!!!!
